This Morning Looked Like Heaven

This morning has been beautiful. Just before the buzz of my alarm, I was awakened by a thunderstorm. The cracking in the sky was so loud and invigorating. I could hear the drizzle outside my window and I just wanted to lay in bed and listen to the storm. It passed too quickly, and was replaced by my buzzing alarm.

I got up and dressed for rain, though by the time I got outside, there was no new rain. The sidewalks were wet with fallen raindrops but there was nothing new to dance in, so I walked to my car and drove in to work.

The darkness hovered a little longer than usual and then, all of a sudden, it became light. It was as if heaven flipped on the lights and lit up the city. I walked to the row of desks along the windows and stole a glimpse of what could only be heaven. The clouds are silver, reflecting the golden light of the Sun. I imagine this is what heaven looks like. Beautiful, reflective, radiant.

The little puffs of gold and reflective silver are sliding back down behind the mountains, and I wonder what will come next. What other glimpse of heaven will I find today?

8 things on the 8th

These are some things I love today:

1. Steamed Salmon with Mango Peach Salsa

2. Spring Salad Greens (the slightly bitter ones) with a sweet vinaigrette and feta cheese. Yum!

3. Living in a home with colorful walls, not just an apartment completely engulfed in all things "eggshell"

4. Chocolate Chip Cookies and Hot Chocolate on a cold and stormy day!

5. Anything damask. I love damask. I want to have damask wallpaper somewhere in my house. Perhaps my bedroom??

6. Wearing bold lipstick colors (red, and a new plum color)

Prophets, Snowfall, & Monopoly

After we enjoyed the counsel of the prophets on Sunday (and after some freshly baked Chocolate Chip cookies and Hot Chocolate), we took a drive through the Mountains to see the colors of Fall spread. It was pretty chilly this weekend. That was an understatement of sorts - because it was actually snowing when we entered the mouth of the canyon.

The colors were magnificent! I loved the intense green right next to the reds!

T-rent and Heidi came with us and shared a snowball or two with us as well...

It was pretty dang freezing! We went back to T-rent and Heidi's house to have Hot Chocolate - and a gruesome game of Monopoly.

Of course I didn't win. I haven't won a game in YEARS!!! I have won one game in the last 6 ish years, and that was Ghost at Thanksgiving with Josh's family. That was 3 years or more ago. :(

I'm terrible at game playing.
